Welcome to the website of Lambda Chi Alpha Colony 290,

Colony 290 of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity was established September 13, 2008 by 19 of the finest men Lake Forest College has to offer. From that point on the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha Colony 290 have striven to be the best that they possibly can and make an impact on the Lake Forest College community and the fraternity at large. The men have accomplished many short term goals and continually battle to reach long term objectives, such as a charter, that are within their reach.
Greek life on the Lake Forest campus is a unique and amazingly fulfilling activity to take part in. Lambda Chi Alpha Colony 290 prides itself on being one of the leading organizations when it comes to promoting Greek life. Whether it be community service activities (many of our brothers choose to spend their spring breaks volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in addition to their typical community service deeds) or brotherhood events (going bowling or out to Buffalo Wild Wings), the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha enjoy every moment of their time at Lake Forest.
Did we also mention our uncanny ability to bring home the hardware? In our first semester on campus we were able to bring home the coveted Greek Week trophy, Alpha Phi - Mud Olympics trophy and a valiant effort put towards winning the Homecoming Spirit Stick. Not only do we compete for trophy's, but we hand them out as well. Fall of 2008 marked the 1st annual Pumpkin Smash which Colony 290 held in conjunction with the wonderful ladies of the Eta Mu chapter of Delta Gamma (pictures can be found in the gallery section of this website). The fantastic women of Delta Delta Delta took that trophy home.
You may (or may not) know that Lambda Chi Alpha is a values based fraternity. This means that we recruit men who exemplify these values and have great character. Our seven core values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service & Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage guide our fraternity and how we conduct ourselves. The men of Colony 290 have shown their ability to put these values into action with their proven leadership. 100% of our members are involved in at least two other campus organizations, many of whom hold executive board positions. We also have a number of athletes who are captains of their teams and exemplify our core values on and off the court/field/ice.
Lambda Chi Alpha at Lake Forest College has the rare opportunity to establish itself in a way that the members of the fraternity will shape. As a new organization we decide what the traditions will be, where we are going and how we will be remembered.
